Welcome Maggie Mae! She has finished her training and is the offical feline security officer at "Two Smiling Dogs".

Please stop by to meet her and meow hello!

After a few months, I thought I should drop by to see Maggie Mae and ask her how she liked her new job as security cat.
"It's okay, I guess," she neowed. "Sometimes I get upset when those big dogs come into the store and I have to hide under the chair or hide out in the back. When I do that, I can't watch the mutts as closely as I should. There is one dog who comes in here named Ashley. That dog would steal the store blind, believe me!"
Of course, Maggie was meowing about my housemate, Ashley. I know that she will steal the food if the dinner isn't nailed down to the kitchen table. "I think Ashley may be an exception. I don't think most dogs would behave that way," I told her.
Maggie Mae growled. "Well they don't treat me with respect. I like to be left alone. And I don't want people rushing up to me and trying to smother me with kisses. It's not dignified! I have a job to do. I must watch the store! It takes all my concentration! It's not an easy job, Henri!"
Since I have never held the position of "security cat" at a place of business, I couldn't argue with her about that. I am sure it is a difficult job, one that requires patience and diplomacy as well as a keen eye.

Feline viewings are back! Maggie Mae has agreed to let Henri of Twin Brook interview cats from the New Haven Animal Shelter.

It's true! The cats have come back to "Two Smiling Dogs"! A round of apaws for all felines! Let's hear those meows and purrs!

This is Misty, an older, sophisticated male feline. Clarence of Belden and I went to "Two Smiling Dogs" to meet him. Clarence took some photographs of Misty and I interviewed him.
Misty is a very friendly, outgoing cat! We shook paws and I began the interview as Clarence set up his camera.

"I understand you are looking for a good home? Can you tell me something about yourself?"
"Well, Henri," he meowed, "I am quite athletic and when I was younger, I liked to play soccer and basketball."
"So you are in good physical shape? You do believe in keeping active and fit?" I asked.
"Oh yes, a few games of "catball" every week keeps the flab in check, you know."
I was surprised. I had never heard of the game of "catball" and told him so.
"It is something like touch football that human being play when they get old," purred Misty. "It was a cat named Morgan who taught and organized the games here in Hamden."

"I can't tell you how important it is for cats to stay physically fit!"
"I know! I know!" I agreed. "I run up and down stairs a lot, just go keep my rear end in shape!"

"Very smart of you Henri!" meowed Misty. "By the way, I do a lot of reading. My favorite subjects are about the famous athletes of the world. Did you know that cats performed at the first Olympics in Greece?"

"Didn't know that," I admitted. "In what venue did cats excel?"
Misty shrugged his shoulders. "I heard it was the balance beam ......"

Come in to "Two Smiling Dogs" and meet Misty and be charmed by him!
